Tourist Application Requirements for a Mozambique Visa
Visa May Not Be Required
Visa exempt for stays of up to 30 days per year. The traveller must:
- Hold a passport valid a least six months on entry with one blank visa page
- Hold proof of sufficient funds for the duration of stay
- Hold proof of onward/return flight
- Hold all documents required for the next destination
- Hold documents showing proof of travel purpose (e.g., business cover or support letter, conference registrations, tour itinerary, etc.)
- Confirm with the airline that boarding will be permitted without a visa as these conditions are subject to change
Note that the traveller is subject to an entry fee that will be charged at the port of entry.
For stays exceeding 30 days, a visa is required and must be obtained prior to arrival. Please refer to the CIBTvisas application kit for details.
Eligibility and Documentation
The Government of Mozambique utilises an electronic visa issuance system which is the equivalent to a visa, but no stamp or label is placed in the passport.
To be eligible the traveller must:
- Hold a passport valid at least six months on entry with one blank visa page

- Hold proof of hotel reservation
- Hold all documents required for the next destination
To complete the order form the traveller must provide:
- A photograph
- A copy of the passport information page
- A copy of the most recent bank statement
- A hotel confirmation
- A flight confirmation

The best time to apply for your Mozambique visa is 1-2 months before your travel date. -
Do I have to send you my passport to get a Mozambique visa? Is it safe to send a passport?
You will need to send your actual passport, not a copy of it. The Mozambique visa is stamped on your passport and will become one of your passport pages. Visa requests cannot be processed without your original passport. Because of the importance of your passport, we strongly suggest that you send your application and passport to CIBTvisas in a secure way, using a traceable courier such as FedEx, UPS, Express Mail or Certified Mail.
