Get a Canadian ETA

If you are traveling to Canada you may be eligible to apply online for an electronic travel authorization (ETA). The ETA is an electronic authorisation from the Government to enter Canada. It is the equivalent to a visa, but no stamp or label is placed in the passport. The online form is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete.

Citizens of visa-exempt countries intending to travel to Canada by air are expected to have applied for an obtained an electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before their departure to Canada.


  • Anyone holding a passport from one of the countries listed can apply for an ETA to Canada.
