UK and Canadian Citizens Now Eligible for China Visa-Free Entry

China has officially expanded its visa waiver program to include citizens of the United Kingdom and Canada. Under the latest announcement published by the Chinese Visa Application Service Center, eligible ordinary passport holders from both countries may now enter China without obtaining a visa in advance for short-term stays.

For UK- and Canada-based organizations, this marks a significant shift in travel planning and mobility strategy.

What the New Visa-Free Policy Allows

Under the current pilot program introduced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, UK and Canadian citizens may travel to China visa-free for short-term purposes such as business meetings, tourism, family visits, and transit. Stays are generally permitted for up to 15 or 30 days, depending on the official framework in place at the time of travel.

This eliminates the need for advance consular appointments and application processing for qualifying trips, reducing lead times for urgent business travel.
